FAQ

No need to worry if you have questions. The best routines are built on curiosity, and Native is here to help clear everything up, from ingredients to shipping. Below you will find answers to the most common questions about deodorant, body wash, hair care, sunscreen, rewards, subscriptions, and more.

How long does it take to receive a package? Delivery times vary by location, but most orders arrive within a few business days. You can always track your order using the link provided in your shipping confirmation email. If you need to make changes to a subscription, like updating your address, payment method, or next shipment date, you can do so easily through your online account. Native does ship internationally to select countries, but due to regulations, shipping to the EU and UK is no longer available. Refunds and exchanges are offered on most products if you are not satisfied, and if your item arrives damaged or never shows up, customer service will help resolve the issue.

Many people ask about ingredients. Native deodorant is made without aluminum, parabens, phthalates, and talc. It does include baking soda in the regular formula, but the sensitive line is baking soda free and has a balanced pH for gentleness. The body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask are also formulated without harsh chemicals. Native products are not considered organic, but they are vegan and not tested on animals. Fragrances are used in many products, some from natural sources and some safe synthetics, to create long lasting scents. If you have a baking soda allergy, the sensitive deodorant stick is the right choice. All Native products are made in the USA.

Shipping costs depend on the size of your order and your location. Standard shipping is free above a certain amount. You can expedite your order for an extra fee, but expedited shipping is not available for all products. Currency accepted is US dollars. Returns are accepted within a set number of days, and exchanges are allowed on some items. Tracking information is sent once your order leaves the warehouse.

The rewards program is free to join. You earn points with every purchase, and past purchases count toward your points and status once you register an account. Your tier is determined by how much you have spent in a year. To stay in your tier, you need to keep spending at the required level within each yearly period. Discounts cannot always be combined, but you can use points on most products. Free priority shipping is earned with a certain point level.

For regular deodorant, it protects against odor as well as most antiperspirants, but it does not stop sweating. There can be an adjustment period when switching from an antiperspirant, during which you might sweat more. It is safe for sensitive skin, though the sensitive formula is better for those with known reactions. Apply to clean, dry underarms. It melts in high heat but returns to solid form at room temperature. Staining is rare but can happen with some fabrics. Shelf life is about two years.

Sensitive deodorant sticks remove baking soda to reduce irritation. They have a skin friendly pH and can be used on other body parts, though Native also sells whole body deodorant sticks and sprays for that purpose.

Plastic free deodorant comes in cardboard or paper based tubes. The formula is the same as regular deodorant, but sensitive and whole body options are not yet available in plastic free packaging. The plastic free tube is not compostable at home but can be recycled or industrially composted.

Whole body deodorant spray can be applied almost anywhere, from feet to chest. It differs from deodorant and body spray, which is an aerosol designed for underarms and a quick body mist. The spray works for sensitive skin, does not usually stain, and prevents odor for most of the day. It can only be shipped to the lower 48 states due to shipping restrictions on aerosols. The same shipping limit applies to deodorant and body spray. Whole body deodorant sticks are also available and work like regular deodorant but for more areas.

Hair care products include shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask. They are safe for children and color treated hair, but they do not prevent balding or treat dandruff. They are not meant for pets. People with thick, frizzy hair can use them, though results vary. The products are biodegradable and fine for sensitive scalps.

Sunscreen is mineral based, using zinc oxide to block UVA and UVB rays. It is water resistant for up to 80 minutes. Face sunscreen is lighter and less greasy than body sunscreen, but both can be used anywhere. Apply generously and reapply every two hours. The SPF is 30. It can go under or over makeup and is safe for children.

Body wash comes in regular and moisturizing formulas. The moisturizing version lathers well and has a balanced pH. Neither body wash is antibacterial or a scrub. You should not use Native body wash as shampoo or on pets. The 36 ounce bottles are available online.

Skin care includes cleansers and lotions for brightening, moisturizing, and sensitive needs. The sensitive line is fragrance free and uses aloe and vitamin B3, also known as niacinamide, which helps retain moisture and regenerate skin cells. Only the Citrus and Bergamot and Coconut and Vanilla cleansers contain fragrance. These products are for normal, oily, dry, and combination skin. They do not offer sun protection on their own. Unopened skincare lasts about two years when stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
